HAPPY MARMOT DAY!

Others might call it Groundhog Day, but I prefer Marmot Day giving some recognition to our endangered species here on Vancouver Island.

Depending on where you live on the island, you might deduce that winter is over, or has six months to run.

However, let me clear this up.. In reality, it really doesn't matter! We, who live on the best coast of Canada, know that winter really only shows it's face on rare occasions, and the flowers in our gardens are already shooting up. Why, in Victoria, we look forward to the annual blossom counting week at the end of Feburary!..

So, while the rest of Canada is bemoaning the possibility of more winter and late spring snowstorms, we are preparing our garden tools, sandles, shorts, and spring cleanup. Not to mention washing and waxing our vehicles in preparation for another lovely summer, and cruisin' with the top down!
