"Why did I lose my mind and run to be an MP? After all, it was not easy. I spent eight months at it, and personally knocked on more than 25 thousand doors. I took on an incumbent MP in an area that had not voted Conservative since 1993, and which now is in the middle of explosive population growth. It was a hard-fought campaign with lots of personal attacks.

Why would anyone put themselves through that? After all, my life was full enough.
